A huge collaboration of young brass players aged 11-18 from across the region’s Music Hubs (Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, Warrington, Halton and St Helens) come together to perform a spectacular concert – from traditional brass band music to songs from the shows – in the magnificent setting of the Great Hall. Playing music is their ritual!
Mersey Hub Brass is an exciting place where young musicians from across the region come together to take their music to a new level. They are inspired and challenged, immersed in the visceral experience of ensemble playing.
Liverpool’s place as the most successful and creative centre of the UK’s music industry is self-evident to anyone with a passing knowledge of popular music history. Music Education therefore, is highly valued as the key to the continuation of the area’s huge legacy of successful music production. Regional Music Hubs are the pivotal centres of music education provision for schools across the region, providing resources, instrumental and curriculum teaching, CPD and network training opportunities to mainstream and SEND schools.
Mersey Hub Brass represents an alliance of four local music education hubs: Resonate Music Hub, working across the city of Liverpool; Sky Music Hub, covering Sefton and Knowsley; Accent Music Hub, covering Warrington and Halton; and St Helens Music Hub, covering St Helens area. The Merseyside Alliance of Music Education Hubs work with over 40,000 young people, teaching them to play instruments, sing their hearts out and experience the life changing power of music. They sincerely hope you enjoy their performance as much as they enjoy the experience of playing as part of LightNight!
