Closed Captions on YouTube

You can use these instructions to turn on Automatic Closed Captioning to any YouTube video.

1.You will need to use the free Chrome web browser, available for download here.

2. Once on chrome, go to the settings menu in the top right corner of the window. Select ‘Accessibility’ in the Advanced Settings in the left hand menu. Click the switch for the Live Captions option. This will now download a Speech Recognition pack.

3. When the speech-to-text bundle is downloaded and turned on, live captions will be automatically generated for any video played on Chrome.
