21 May 2021 5pm – Late

Formby Band

17:00 – 00:00

Formby Band has been in existence for over 40 years, and boasts an age range of members from 13 years old to pensionable age. They have performed for prestigious events in places such as Liverpool St George’s Hall, Philharmonic Hall and both Cathedrals.

We’re delighted to share a compilation of past performances as our virtual contribution to LightNight 2021. We have enjoyed performing at LightNight in Liverpool in person in past years and hope to be able to do so again in 2022.

Our first piece is Breezin’ Down Broadway, a selection of show tunes, which was performed at Steam on the Dock at Albert Dock, Liverpool.

Our second performance is an arrangement of Hoagie Carmichael’s ‘Georgia On My Mind’ for solo cornet, performed by James Gray at Botanic Gardens, Southport in 2018.

Our third contribution is Flugel player Matthew Gray’s performance of ‘How Great Thou Art’, again at Botanic Gardens in Southport, but in 2019.

Our final piece is a trombone trio, ‘I Will Follow Him’, which you may recognise from the movie ‘Sister Act’. It was performed by Adam Gilbert, Matthew Guinan and Anna Loy at Vale Park, New Brighton in 2018.

We hope you enjoy our contribution and we hope to see you in person in 2022.

Audience: Specifically aimed at adults but is family friendly
